Lena Headey may be in the middle of a child custody battle

"Game of Thrones" fans in North Carolina might be interested in learning that Lena Headey, one of the show's stars, is currently involved in a custody dispute. According to reports, a judge in California ordered Headey to return her 6-year-old son to the United States for violating a custody order.

According to reports, Headey enrolled her boy in an English school without first obtaining permission to do so from her ex-husband. The order reportedly came on Oct. 27; however, one source disputes this claim. The alternate source says that no orders were issued in the case.

Headey's ex is supposed to have 10 days of visitation with his son each month. Headey reportedly moved the boy to England because she felt the schools were better in that country. Headey was supposed to return the boy to the U.S. by Sept. 5, but the judge reportedly allowed her to remain in England with the boy until filming wraps up for the television show's season.

Custody and visitation cases are decided according to what the courts deem to be in the child's best interests rather than what might be in either parent's best interests. People who are embroiled in a dispute over child visitation and custody might want to consult with a family law attorney. An attorney may offer an honest assessment of the matter based on his or her experience and knowledge of the law. If the lawyer agrees to take the case, he or she may advocate for the client's interests.
